KAMPALA – New Zimbabwe flyhalf Ian Prior, who has smoothly settled into the Sables line-up, will miss the Rugby Africa Cup final against Algeria here on Sunday to attend to other matters.
The 33-year-old halfback has made a belated but admirable start to Test rugby after commanding Zimbabwe’s backline with noticeable class in the quarter-final and semi-final wins over Uganda and Namibia on Saturday and Wednesday respectively.
Also leaving the Zimbabwe camp is prop Cleopas Kundiona, who plays for French second tier club USON Nevers, as well as Sharks flank Tino Mavesere.
The trio’s departure, according to team management, is due to “personal and professional commitments.”
Meanwhile, lock forward Godfrey Muzanargwo, who also plays in the back row, has been added to the squad while the rest remains unchanged.
