HARARE – Still basking in the glory of guiding fledgling Zimbabwean cricket club Sogo Rangers to a first National Premier League (NPL) title in their debut season, coach Ryan Maron has gone back to grooming more cricketers under his exciting Cricket School of Excellence (CSE) project in South Africa.
The CSE programme is centred on extensive training throughout the year, with the extra incentive of touring picturesque Cape Town, Maron’s birthplace and hometown.
“The tours happen throughout the year, all season dependent,” Maron told SportsCast from Cape Town.
“It involves aspiring cricketers and current franchise players of all ages, both men and women. Only former international and current high-performance coaches are used as we aim to offer the tour groups a different type of coaching to ensure the players leave the tour better and improved.”
49-year-old world-renowned gaffer Maron has previously worked as fielding coach for West Indies and Afghanistan’s national teams.
