AFC Bournemouth defender Jordan Zemura is set to join Serie A side Udinese this summer. The left-back’s contract expires this summer and he has been linked with a Premier League move with Crystal Palace and West Ham United, as well as some interest from Aston Villa, Leeds United and Newcastle United.

Udinese has announced on their social media on Wednesday afternoon (April 12) that the Zimbabwe international he will join the club on a free transfer. The 23-year-old is understood to have signed a four-year deal with the Serie A outfit, who currently lie 10th in the table.

Zemura has been left out of the matchday squad over the last five fixtures as a result of an internal decision. It soon emerged that the full-back and his representatives had failed to engage with the club despite a new deal being offered.

Despite this, Gary O’Neil previously insisted Jordan Zemura remains in his plans at Bournemouth. He previously told reporters: “Jordan has had a good time here, of course,” O’Neil added. “I don’t get involved at all in contract situations, just purely on team selection.

“He can play left-back. We’ve got an Uruguay international available in Matias Vina, who has been training well. We have three very capable left-backs at the moment. Some tough decisions for me, but also positives. We have more options.

Zemura has made 61 senior appearances for Cherries to date and joined from Charlton Athletic in 2019. He saw a one-year contract extension triggered in March 2020. The 23-year-old made his name at Bournemouth during their promotion-winning 2021/22 season and scored three goals in 33 Championship games.

He has since been demoted to the development squad as the Cherries continue their fight to remain in the Premier League.
