HARARE – Two men and a woman have been arrested in Gokwe over the gruesome killing of young Kadoma cricket player, Blessing Kamwise (pictured), in what has turned out to be a love affair-related murder, SportsCast can reveal.

24-year-old Kamwise was stabbed to death on the evening of 29 May near Blue Ranges in the Zimbabwean town of Kadoma and his lifeless body was found with two deep wounds on the neck. He was buried in his hometown last Saturday, with police launching an investigation into the killing.

It has since emerged that Kamwise met his fate due to an alleged affair with the girlfriend of one of the two men arrested last night as the three – whose names have not yet been disclosed – were on the run.

Sources say the boyfriend, who was with a friend, arrived at his lover’s house unexpected, only to find Kamwise in the woman’s company. The young cricketer is said to have immediately left, sensing trouble.

The boyfriend and his friend then pursued Kamwise, subdued him, and fatally stabbed him with sharp objects.

Realising their heinous act, the two went back to the woman’s place, and the three fled together. They were finally nabbed Saturday in Gokwe, under 200km from Kadoma.
