HARARE – Zimbabwe have unveiled a new kit ahead of cricket’s T20 World Cup in Australia, with the unfamiliar but fashionable yellow shirt proving an instant hit with fans.

Although gold is part of Zimbabwe’s national colours, the country’s national cricket side has traditionally donned an all-red attire in international games.

But with modern day fashion trends changing, professional sports teams throughout the world are gradually playing around with the other colours on the national flag or club symbol.

The Chevrons’ new trendy playing shirt is dominantly yellow with a red collar. Red also appears at the bottom seam of the sleeve as well as on faint stripes on the lower bottom of the fitting jersey.

The longs remain dominantly red.

Zimbabwe open their World Cup campaign against Ireland in Hobart on Monday.
