HARARE – Zimbabwe have to wait another four years to try and qualify for the country’s first Rugby World Cup since 1992, following defeat to perennial tormentors Namibia in France on Wednesday night.
The Sables lost 34-19 to the Namibians in the semi-finals of the Africa Cup, which is also being used as a qualifier for the 2023 World Cup finals.
The Namibians, who have been to every World Cup since the 1999 edition, now meet Kenya in the final, with the winner qualifying.
For Zimbabwe, it is yet another disappointing campaign, yet another failure, for a country that was the first and only African team at the first two editions of the World Cup in 1987 and 1991.
