HARARE – Zimbabwe and Kenya, currently banned by Fifa from international football, have been given a chance to play in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations of their suspension by the world football governing body is lifted two weeks after next week’s draw.
Both countries’ government must reinstate their national football federations for Fifa to lift their ban, but in the case of Zimbabwe, authorities are adamant that reinstatement will only happen on completion of a forensic audit currently underway.
The draw for the qualification competition of the 2023 Afcon finals will be held in the Ivory Coast next Thursday.
