HARARE – Two MultiChoice Zimbabwe staffers enjoyed a brief but exciting trip to Qatar for a 2023 FIFA World Cup experience in the past fortnight, after winning an internal competition.
Blessing Masina and Gerald Hlabiso have returned home after the visit and are enthusiastic about the trip and their exposure to some of the World cup excitement.
Said Liz Dziva, publicity and public relations manager of MultiChoice Zimbabwe: “These two employees won the trips after their success in internal programmes aimed at enhancing the DStv experience for subscribers, which is an ongoing strategic thrust within the organisation.”
Blessing Masina works in the customer service section and was a team player in an internal campaign that focused on value-added DStv services such as the MyDStvApp, DStv CatchUp and Showmax
“This big win was a huge surprise for me, but also a big thrill,” she said.
“While in Qatar I had the privilege of watching the Portugal-Ghana game in Stadium 974, one of the most anticipated group opening games. So, yes, I watched Cristiano Ronaldo play live! It was a heartwarming experience despite being the only Zimbabwean among so many Ghanaian and Portuguese fans”.
Gerald Hlabiso works in the customer value management section and won his prize for being an outstanding performer in a customer retention incentive programme.
“I was shocked and delighted to have won a prize like this, and it was a dream come true during my birthday month,” he said.“It was such a good experience to go to Qatar, experiencing another country’s culture and surroundings. Of course, I did many things in Qatar, from going to the beach to interacting with the huge number of other soccer fans there. Qatar really is a wonderful place to visit.”
He enjoyed the match between Qatar and Senegal and was thrilled to be among 30 000 fans in a high state of excitement.
Dziva said internal programmes aimed at improving customer experiences of DStv were on going within the organisation and incentivising staff with competitions helped them go the extra mile in coming up with new ideas.
