HARARE – Five players from Pakistan are now in Zimbabwe for the domestic season in an arrangement designed to expose the African country’s batsmen to quality bowling.

Four are fast bowlers while veteran Jalat Khan bowls left-arm orthodox spin. The players – all from Lahore Qalanders – have been spread among Zimbabwe’s five franchise teams.

37-year-old Khan will feature for Southern Rocks. Mohammad Adil goes to Midwest Rhinos, Ameer Hamza joins Mashonaland Eagles, Salman Mirza will play for Manicaland Mountaineers while Mamoon Riaz is with Matabeleland Tuskers.

The players’ arrival this week comes after Zimbabwe Cricket (ZC) in June signed a partnership with Pakistani domestic cricket giants Qalanders in a deal that will also see some upcoming Zimbabwean players spend some months of intense training in the Asian country.
